SDF is a mandatory daily fee levied by the Bhutan Government. For Indian tourists, it is ₹1,200 per person per night. This fee is used for the country's development and environmental preservation. We help you pay this online during the permit process.
No, a Passport is not mandatory for Indians. You can enter Bhutan using a Voter ID card. However, if you are traveling with kids, their original Birth Certificate (in English) is required.
Since we are Direct Ground Handlers in Siliguri/Phuentsholing, we process permits in advance. Typically, it takes 1-2 hours at the border for biometric verification once you reach Phuentsholing.
Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN) is the currency, but Indian Rupees (INR) are widely accepted everywhere in Bhutan (except ₹2000 notes). You can easily pay in cash for local shopping and food.
The best time is March to May (Spring) for rhododendrons and September to November (Autumn) for clear Himalayan views and festivals like Paro Tshechu.
